UPDATE 9/1/15: Today we received word that One Tribe Festival has been indefinitely postponed by ID&T. Unfortunately this means that our Flow Garden must remain a dream until further notice. I just wanted to say thank you to all those that have reached out and offered your time and materials to help make our vision a reality. The Flow Garden is going to happen. We are committed to finding more festivals that want to work closely with us to make gloving and flow arts a celebrated staple in music festival culture. Keep your eyes peeled!
If you’ve ever gotten your lights taken away by security, this is for you.
If you’ve ever been relegated to the cramped corners of a crowd to give light shows, this is for you.
If you’ve ever wished you could meet glovers in one central spot while seeing your favorite artists, this is for you.
On September 25-26, we’re bringing you the first ever glover’s Flow Garden. Inspired by the many flow artists that have come before us to unite their communities, our mission is to bring glovers and light artists together in a free, safe and accepting zone for giving light shows. And what better place than smack dab in the middle of a music festival.
We’ve teamed up with One Tribe Festival to make this dream come true. You’ll be able to trade, jam, meet up and more all while listening to some dope artists spin their tracks live on stage.
The First of its Kind for Gloving
While many festivals ban gloving, and others allow it to exist on the fringes, the Emazing Flow Garden is the first time that the gloving and light shows are embraced on major music festival grounds. Our team will host workshops, meet ‘n’ greets, featured battles and community installations all through the day and night.
We’ve got eyes on us, guys. We can’t say whose, but trust us when we say there are some big players watching to see how this goes. If this goes well, we could very well see the gloving ban lifted from major festivals around the country.
These festivals know that light shows are becoming a big thing, but they want to see what we’ve got. And it’s up to you to show them. The Flow Garden will set an example for how light show and flow artists deserve to be welcomed at all music festivals.
So What’s One Tribe All About?
If you’re in the Socal region, you’re in luck. One Tribe is located at the beautiful Lake Perris Recreation Area in Perris, CA, the perfect spot for a weekend camping trip with mountains and beaches all around. Just find a tent with your homies and post up for 1-2 nights of awesome.
You’ll hear headliners like Kygo, Tycho, Gramatik and a solid list of other big house artists like DJ Dan, Skream and Pumpkin.
tl;dr – Wait did you really just scroll through this? Man…
The Flow Garden will bring glovers and light artists together in a free, safe and accepting zone for light shows. We need your help to pack the house, work together and show the festival world what gloving can do.
I know I personally cannot wait to see what we come together to create here. The Flow Garden will send a surge through festivals around the country that have yet to embrace this community. When this blows up, we’ll be putting your art in the spotlight and showing the world why gloving and light shows need to be part of the festival experience.
World's first gloving journalist. Give me a light show and I'll make you famous :P
