Back in 2012, Gregg Lillie and EmazingLights took a team of light show artists to Escape from Wonderland in San Bernardino. The team called “the FaceMelt Crew” was the first festival team of its kind, and today, the program and Gregg’s legacy lives on at 25+ festivals across America. After moving on from his position as Brand Manager of EmazingLights, Lillie has worked closely with Jeff Abel, more commonly known as world class Bass Producer, Excision.

The competition at IGC will be extremely intense this year. Of the two years that I’ve competed, this IGC has the most people coming from out of state. I’m extremely excited to see what my main competitors in the Legends Bracket have in store for me, as I’ve been holding a lot back just for this day. Overall, it’s just gonna be unbelievable.

While this isn’t a concept in the same way as tutting or finger rolls, picking the colors of your lights is just as important as anything. Lights give glovers an advantage over a lot of other styles of dancing because we have the ability to portray emotion through the colors we choose. They can be completely random color sets, or they can have special meaning behind them. Whether you’re rocking programmable sets or sticking with classic bulbs, your sets are always part of you.

In general, Insomniac does a great job of encouraging its attendees to be creative. Between kandi, totems, costumes, glow gear, and flow arts, it’s legitimately awesome that we can bring nearly anything we want out to rave.
With that said, I’m a glover, and at Nocturnal Wonderland this year we got the short end of the stick. Something needs to be said about the way we were treated.
