Hello Gloving Universe!!!!
I am back again to break down our latest Synergy Challenge with [PLL] Vex and [IM] Puppet. These are two of the most passionate glovers I have ever seen, both dedicating themselves fully to gloving in one way or another.
When we put these two in front of a camera, we didn’t know what was going to happen, but we knew it was going to be special. This video features the new style of Double Team light shows that lean towards choreography and put on a borderline theatrical performance. This is definitely one of the ways that gloving is making it’s way towards mainstream dance, and I have a feeling this video is going to shoot across the internet faster than headline news.
The real question is, who the heck are these glovers and where do they come from?
Vex comes from Tampa, Florida and is not even old enough to attend most festivals. Nonetheless, he has found a passion for gloving. With incredibly supportive parents, Vex has quickly risen to the top of the gloving community. He is the future of gloving, and he might already be the present. Don’t tell him I said that, though.
Vex has developed an incredibly well rounded style, balancing every aspect of his show. He is able to step into both leading and following roles throughout the performance. This kid is truly a chameleon.
What can I say, the Hawaiian powerhouse is one the of the islands’ greatest glovers. When I finally got the chance to talk to Puppet about what he does with the Hawaiian gloving community, I was astounded.
For those of you that don’t know, the #Alohanation is not just a community centered around enjoying gloving. They are a family of glovers focused on progressing, understanding and creating theory around gloving. Puppet is also a top level Super Smash Bros competitor, but he retired earlier this year after attending E3 in Vegas, shortly before HARD Summer week.
Puppet is exactly what his name suggests, an entertainer. His shows are a maze of showmanship and technicality, with animations, mimes and creatures abound. I have never seen someone turn more real life ideas into gloving concepts in my life, and I can see that his creativity is abundantly present in this show.
Hope you all enjoy the video as much as I did!!!
I haven't been good at these things since the PlurLife.com days when everyone just put their "festival resume" with all of the events they have been to. Long story short, I have been gloving since November 1st, 2008 and I have seen gloving go from finger lights and glow sticks to international publicity and Shark Tank notoriety... and I have an opinion about everything. (You have been warned)
