Working together with Brian Lim 6 years ago as one of EmazingLight’s first sponsors was an unforgettable experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world, and I’d like to personally thank him once again not only for that opportunity, but for allowing me to come back and contribute on a professional level.
Yes, I am now officially working full-time with EmazingLights and joining them in a vision for gloving that aligns with mine–spreading gloving as far and wide as possible so that it can be viewed as a legitimate art form & sport. This allows a wider audience the opportunity to reap the benefits and joys of gloving that we have all had the fortune of experiencing, and then some. I have no doubt that my experience here will be exceptional, and I’m looking forward to continuing my story within the gloving world at a different capacity.
After returning to this scene just a year ago, I was filled with more passion and motivation than I ever had not only as a glover, but as a person. Why? I felt a strong responsibility and obligation to grow a community that has given more to me than I could ever imagine or ask for–a community that has shaped and provided opportunities that have fulfilled and defined who I am today. I am the happiest and most comfortable I have ever been with myself in my nearly 30 years of existence–believe it or not, gloving was the biggest catalyst for all of it.
The people I met, the connections I made, the relationships I built, the recognition and support from fans, the priceless experiences of travelling to do what I love, the gratitude I received from complete strangers for simply sharing something I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into… there is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than that. The only way to keep this feeling going is to introduce new glovers into the scene, and ensure that they have a healthy growing experience within our community. In my eyes, the reality & truth is… without a strong community, we are nothing–this is why it’s so important for me to put my focus, effort, blood, sweat, and tears into anything that can contribute to this.
EmazingLights has done exactly that in the past 6 years of business, and they continue to do so which is apparent in their efforts around GGN, IGC, BOSS, FNLs, FMCs, Club Gloves, and more. Many will say this and that about the brand, but there is no denying that they’ve consistently poured undying effort & support into community-driven events. There is no denying that these events have grown & progressed tremendously over the past several years. There is no denying that we are all in this because the community drives us. I can bet almost every dollar I have that none of us would’ve continued to glove if it weren’t for the friends we made, the fams we built, or the teams we rep day in and day out. At the end of the day, in some shape or form, it is the people within the community that continue to drive and fulfill our desires to glove.
And that is why I wholeheartedly believe in what EmazingLights strives for day in and day out… they’re not here to make a quick buck and sell you some products. Yes, they are a business and their livelihood depends on making money, but their #1 priority is to ensure this community continues to grow happily at a large scale, and that is also mine. I am excited for what the future holds, and am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve when we join forces!
