These things are legit UV bulbs. They revealed the writing on my black light posters. I'd advise you use closed diffusers, and if you have clear casings then all the better. These are a VERY deep purple, but the glow in clear casings is decent. Accompanied with pinks, greens, and blues it is unbeatable.
